Mass Effect: Foundation Issue #2

The previous post was about the first Foundation issue which involved Rasa (aka Maya Brooks). The second issue introduces Wrex pre-Mass Effect 1. One of my favorite things about this issue is the cover:

TAKE THE GALAXY BY THE QUAD!!!

Oh, Wrex.

Anyway, it starts with Rasa and Kai Leng rattling to each other over a target which eventually gets away. The problem is that Wrex was also going after the same target. Fist, another Krogan from the games, is “spared” so to say by Rasa, as the Illusive Man questions Rasa about letting him go. If you didn’t know yet, the Illusive Man and Cerberus are a pro-human organization and are essentially racist against all other species in the galaxy. They don’t care to kill an alien.

This issue was not as good as the first, but the redeeming factor is Wrex. If you add Wrex to ANYTHING, it’s good. Always good.

The next issue comes out September 25, and I am certainly looking forward to its release. Ashley Williams will be making an appearance. Click here to get a summary of that comic.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Weapons

Call of Duty is one of the biggest names in gaming these days, and for good reason. They provide the wannabe soldiers a chance to fight on the front lines in (debatable) life-like confrontations. The best thing about Black Ops 2, is being able to select and customize your own weapons classes ranging anywhere from pistols to sniper rifles.

Right now, my favorite weapon to play with is the M27, which I recently got the Gold camo for. It’s a fully automatic assault rifle with superb accuracy. It has a reduced recoil, which allows for that higher accuracy.

I usually set up two different classes for the M27, what I like to call my “Pissed Off Class” and my normal running class. You can imagine why I would pull out the Pissed Off Class, when the other team is hardcore camping, or doing other ridiculous things. We’ll call the Pissed Off Class #1, and the running class #2.

On #1, I set it up with Target Finder, Grenade Launcher, and Quickdraw. I don’t use a secondary weapon on this class, so I can the maximum amount of pissed-offness into the M27. For my Perks, I’ll run Blind Eye, Cold Blooded, and Engineer. My Lethals include a Claymore, and my Tactictals are one Black Hat.

On #2, I change it up pretty often, but these are usually the options I go with: Fore Grip and Quickdraw (sometimes I’ll throw in Primary Gunfighter and use the MMS scope, just because). For my secondary, I’ve started using the B23R, because as Ghosts gets closer to its release, players are getting more ridiculous. Any way I can piss off the no-skill players, the better. I won’t run any attachments on this, normally. If I do, it’s either Extended Clip or Long Barrel. Then for my Perks I use Lightweight, Cold Blooded, and Dexterity.  Lethals I use a grenade, alternating whether I want the Sticky or not. And Tacticals, (when applicable) I use Concussions.

Now to break down my other classes. These all change from time to time. I’m currently hoping to get my SMG’s Diamond before Ghosts comes out, so that’s pretty much all I have!

Class 1

Primary: MSMC
Attachments: Fore Grip, Reflex Sight (with the Blue Dot, of course), and Fast Mag.

Secondary: B23R
Attachments: None

Wildcards: Primary Gunfighter

Perk 1: Flak Jacket (heehee)
Perk 2: Cold Blooded (some campers are too stupid to realize you don’t have the red diamond around you)
Perk 3: Dexterity

Lethal: Semtex
Tactical: None

Class 2 is my pissed off M27.

Class 3

Primary: MP7
Attachments: Suppressor, Reflex Sight, Fore Grip

Perk 1: Lightweight
Perk 2: Cold Blooded
Perk 3: Engineer

Lethal: Bouncing Betty

Class 4
I alternate between the LSAT and PDW-57 here, so I’ll give both options. My LSAT I use for Nuketown 2025, which is why it alternates.

Primary: LSAT
Attachments: Fore Grip, Target Finder, Suppressor.

Secondary: B23R
Attachments: None

Wildcards: Primary Gunfighter

Perk 1: Flak Jacket
Perk 2: Cold Blooded
Perk 3: Dexterity

Lethal: Grenade
Tactical: None

Option 2
I’m only at like, Level 2 for this gun.

Primary: PDW-57

Wildcards: Perk 3 Greed

Perk 1: Blind Eye
Perk 2: Cold Blooded

Class 5
I’ve just prestiged this gun.

Primary: Peacekeeper
Attachments: Fast Mag

Secondary: None
Attachments: None

Wildcards: Perk 3 Greed

Perk 1: Lightweight
Perk 2: Cold Blooded
Perk 3: Dexterity & Engineer

Lethal: Grenade
Tactical: Black Hat x2

Class 6

Primary: Vector K10
Attachments: Reflex Sight, Fore Grip

Secondary: B23R
Attachments: None

Wildcards: None

Perk 1: Flak Jacket
Perk 2: Cold Blooded
Perk 3: Dexterity

Lethal: Bouncing Betty
Tactical: EMP Grenade X2

So that’s what I’ve got going on right now in my Custom Classes. Usually, I’ve got a bit more reasoning within my class sets, but trying to go Diamond has cause a change. I generally like to have at least one Assault Rifle (M27), one SMG (Peacekeeper), one LMG (LSAT or HAMR), and one Sniper Rifle (SVU-AS). Then, I’ll see if I want to add another one of any of these (usually an SMG [Vector K10 normally] or an Assault Rifle [AN-94…LOVE, but I’m at level 50 right now, and I chose to permanently unlock Claymores for some reason]) or if I want to use any of the same I already have and set it up differently for specific purposes or maps. I’ve always wanted Diamond LMG’s, so I may end up changing my mind and doing those instead of SMG’s.

Next time, I think I’ll talk about the different maps, and what I like/dislike about each, and what’s good/bad from a wider perspective of each. Either that, or I’ll talk about the pros/cons of doing the Fresh Restart (which I’ve done, and is why I’m only at Level 50, Prestige 1). Let me know if you have any suggestions/questions/comments. Also, if you’d like me to talk about a specific weapon, map, etc.

First Impression of Saints Row IV

I ordered Saints Row IV through Amazon and it somehow took an extra day to get it. Anyway, when I got home from school yesterday, I saw a box sitting outside my door. I hurriedly picked it up and I knew instantly what it was: my new laptop bag. But the big-ass box also held something more amusing inside: Saints Row IV. So I popped it in to my Xbox and started my journey as El Presidente de United States.

The opening scene is pretty sweet. Don’t want to spoil just yet, but let me tell you, it won’t let you down. It is the best of BLOPS put together with cursing Shanti watching your back: the ultimate perfection of the ridiculous side of GTA.

Then something weird happens. Aliens. Everywhere. Big, ugly, spikey, hairy-looking aliens. Then flash back to the 50s, and a weird strut. Then plowing into everything with cars.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I just want to say that I forgot how fun Saints Row was. And, as always, I make my characters look like super goobers. My “El Presidente” is a rather large white woman with big boobs (that bounce very crazily), the Morrisey pompadour that is black with purple tints, and a southern drawl. Pictures will come later.

For those of you enticed by Saints Row, I hope you have as much fun plowing into cars, people, houses, fences, and the occasional furry. And please let us know your experiences with it! Happy gaming!
